COVID-19 Employment Links

Members,

We hope this is helpful for you and your clients. This post will be updated as necessary.

Applying for unemployment benefits

What you will need:

  • Last employer’s business name and address
  • First and last dates (month, day and year) you worked for your last employer
  • Number of hours worked and pay rate if you worked this week (including Sunday)
  • Information related to your normal wage
  • Alien Registration Number (if not a U.S. citizen or national)

Before applying, check out the step-by-step tutorial on how to apply for benefits. It is incredibly hard to get assistance by phone to correct any mistakes made in the application process. This can delay receiving benefits for weeks.

Click the follow link for tutorial, https://www.twc.texas.gov/files/jobseekers/tutorial-apply-for-benefits-online-twc.pdf

Once you have viewed the tutorial, click on the following link to start your application, https://apps.twc.state.tx.us/UBS/changeLocale.do?language=en&country=US&page=/security/logon.do

Preferably, sign up for Electronic Correspondence. All communication by the TWC will be through this portal.
