Applicants selected for a scholarship must accept their award by May 1, 2026, awardees are invited to the MABA-Dallas First Friday Lunch at La Calle Doce.

Attendance at First Friday Lunch is not required - best of luck on final exams!

Applicants are evaluated based on four main factors:

1. Personal background and financial need;

2. Academic and extracurricular achievement;

3. Demonstrated commitment to serving the Hispanic, Latino, and Undocumented community, shown through academic, extracurricular, or professional record of service; and

4. Future plans to advance the mission of MABA-Dallas in your legal practice.

5. Connections to the Dallas community through service, advocacy, or academic initiatives.

1. Applicant must be a MABA member. MABA membership is free for law students and can be completed online at www.dallasmaba.com. All applicants have until the date the application is due to sign up as a member. We highly encourage all new members to attend at least one MABA meeting or event before the application due date.

4. Personal Statement up to 500 words, double-spaced. We invite you to submit a personal statement on a topic of your choosing that you feel will best convey your strengths in the four main evaluative factors listed above. Please include your short- and long-term professional aspirations following law school.

5. Unofficial Transcript from law school 

6. Proof of July 2026 Bar Exam registration 

OPTIONAL: One (1) Letter of Recommendation or Professional Reference. Letter may be written by a professor, prior employer, internship supervisor, or academic colleague. 

Applicants selected for a MABA-Dallas Spring 3L Bar Prep Scholarship will receive an award of $500.00 USD.

All applicants will be notified of their application determination on or about April 28, 2026.

Awardees may choose to remain anonymous, by submitting request via email
by 6:00pm, Thursday, April 30, 2026.

If Awardee has chosen to remain anonymous, only the law school attended by the awardee will be shared at the May 2026 MABA-Dallas First Friday Lunch.
